World Series of Poker

The 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) is scheduled to take place from Tuesday, May 28 through Wednesday, July 17 at the Horseshoe and Paris Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“There’s not much more that can be said about what a special year 2023 was for the WSOP and the game of poker,” said Ty Stewart, SVP and Executive Director of the World Series of Poker. “But it’s time to turn the page and begin the countdown to 2024. Records are made to be broken. We’re busy on improvements to make sure 2024 is both the biggest and best event in poker history. Mark your calendars and bank those vacation days. We’ll see you in Vegas.”

New events in 2024 include the $10,000 Big O Championship, a $5,000 Seniors High Roller, the $1,500 Mixed No-Limit Hold’em/Pot Limit Omaha Double Board Bomb Pot, the $800 Independent Day Celebration, a $3,000 Mid-Stakes Championship, and the $600 PokerNews Deepstack Championship.

When is the 2024 World Series of Poker?

The 2024 World Series of Poker gets underway on Tuesday, May 28 and runs through Wednesday, July 17, 2024.

Where is the 2024 World Series of Poker held?

The 2024 World Series of Poker will again be held at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas Hotels & Casinos in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Horseshoe Las Vegas Hotel and Casino

The Horseshoe Las Vegas, formerly known as Bally's is owned and operated by Caesars Entertainment.

The property originally opened in 1973 and was fully renovated in time for the 2023 World Series of Poker. The name is an homage to Binion's Horseshoe, established downtown in 1951, which hosted the World Series of Poker from 1970 up until 2004.

The "new" Horseshoe is home to 2,812 rooms and over 68,000 square feet of gaming space.

Paris Las Vegas Hotel

The Paris Las Vegas Hotel is also owned and operated by Caesars Entertainment.

Opened in 1999 it is substantially younger than its neighbouring property and has 2,917 rooms and almost 100,000 square feet of gaming space. Themed around the French capital, the property features a half-scale replica of the Eiffel tower and a two-thirds sized Arc de Triomphe.

How to Play the 2024 World Series of Poker?

It is super straightforward to play in the 2024 World Series of Poker as long as you have the buy-in and are aged 21 or over. Here are five easy steps for you to follow:

  1. Check the schedule - Make sure to check the daily schedule to help determine which event you want to participate in.
  2. Qualify online or live - Many poker players qualify for the WSOP through satellites, so see if there are any satellites available
  3. Register and buy-in - Head to the tournament venue and pay the buy-in fee. Make sure to have the necessary identification and Caesars reward card.
  4. Know the rules - Familiarize yourself with not only the rules of the specific poker game you're playing, but the WSOP's own rules for how to act at the table.
  5. Stay informed - Follow the live updates on PokerNews and keep an eye on the WSOP social media channels for all the latest information.

How to Buy-in Directly to the 2024 World Series of Poker

Online and in-person registration for all World Series events will open in the weeks prior to the first event. Players will be able to register 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Players will need to bring a valid photo ID and your Caesars Rewards Loyalty card in order to register.

International players are required to bring an additional form of identification that shows residential address, such as a signed Las Vegas lease agreement, a utility bill or a mobile phone bill.

*Participants using credit/debit cards must have a valid ID that matches the cardholder name present on the credit card used for the transaction.

How to Satellite into the 2024 World Series of Poker

Players have a variety of ways to quality for the WSOP, including international and domestic online satellites on GGPoker and WSOP.com.

Satellites have already begun on WSOP.com for players in Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Michigan and they will run continuously throughout the event. Outside of the U.S., GGPoker will run exclusive satellites to the WSOP. More details will be announced soon.

In addition, mega satellites in 2024 will be played as “Landmark Mega Satellites”, where players will earn their seat when they reach a predetermined amount of chips.

When is the 2024 World Series of Poker Main Event?

The 2024 World Series of Poker Main Event will run from July 3-17, 2024, once again taking advantage of the July 4 holiday weekend as they attempt to again break the record for largest WSOP Main Event set in 2023.

How to Buy-in Directly to the 2024 World Series of Poker Main Event

It is easy to buy directly into the 2024 World Series of Poker Main Event, just head to the cage located at Paris Hotel & Casino once registration is open. Be sure to take the necessary identification and your Caesars reward card.
